Archival Death Work

The intersection between personal + familial collections and death, whether symbolically, identity, or preparing for a bereavement, can be overwhelming. This transformative service provides archival care for your photographs, heirlooms, artwork, books, and paper items. As an archivist for over 14 years, I am merging my two practices together for honoring the ritual of cleaning up, clearing, and protecting our personal memories. I can help with analog and digital collections.

What this service offers:

  • Assessment and audit of collections (e.g. got 5k photos you don’t know how to clean up and save, your great grandmother's photo album that needs immediate care to preserve in a safer way?)

  • Organize and preserve the material to your needs.

  • Ritual and routine work around honoring this work and continuing it on your own.

  • Disaster preparedness work for analog and digital collections.

  • Help understanding if the collection(s) passed down to you should be shared with an organization for archival purposes.

The initial consultation is free and 30 minutes to understand your needs and answer any questions. Feel free to email me before scheduling with inquiries.

We will then set up logistics to meet and a schedule, with a plan in place.
